Hi, my name is Ryszard Lenczewski and I am a cinematographer. I have worked on almost 100 movies in 32 countries.
I was educated at the Camera Department of the Polish National Film School in 1975. Since 2006 I have been a professor at that school.
During preparations for every new film that I am going to shoot, I am rarely separated from my still camera.
I sketch constantly, “writing down” both my visual and technical impressions.
This is a time when I feel like a standalone artist; separate from the rest of the crew.
During these years of film work, I have collected many photographs that now exist as independent, autonomous pieces of art.
